If you are struggling to fit movement into your day, try these quick movement snacks that’ll keep you energised throughout the workday.

Morning – beat the seat while waiting for your computer to boot up: 

  • Circle your shoulders
  • Rotate your ankles
  • Drop your neck from side to side
  • Take a deep breath in and out, and you’re ready to go! 

Tea/coffee break – pass the time while waiting for the kettle to boil: 

  • Jog on the spot
  • Do a few press-ups against a wall or door. 
  • Reach up and down to touch your toes.
  • Hold your hips and bend back as far as you can (but be safe and don’t overdo it). 

Lunchtime - step away from your workstation: 

  • Try to build in a walk (preferably outside) during your lunch break
  • If you have access to stairs, walk up and down a few times to get your heart rate up and improve circulation
