Water is an essential nutrient. Are you drinking enough? Use these tips to make hydration a habit:

1. Know your needs
The average adult should drink roughly 1.5 to two litres (or six to eight glasses) of water daily.
 
2. Wake up and sip
 Aim to drink a glass of water first thing in the morning.
 
3. Bottle it
Keep a reusable bottle of water on hand, or a glass of water that you refill regularly.
 
4. Flavour it
Try adding frozen fruit (berries, fresh mint, oranges, lemon or lime wedges).
 
5. Make mealtimes your cue
Have a glass of water before meals and keep a jug on the table at mealtimes.
 
6. Think outside the box
Hydration can come in many forms. Milk, yoghurt, soup, fruit and veggies, herbal tea and even rice have a high water content.
