AWS features collaboration with LiveWell by Zurich

By focusing on building a scalable system, LiveWell aims to ensure that its health and wellbeing app can run seamlessly all over the world. AWS tools have been a significant asset for enabling LiveWell to process high quantities of data requests with an entirely server-free system. Building the system in this way has enabled LiveWell to scale its operations to over 27 countries with relative ease.

LiveWell makes full use of a range of AWS tools to streamline its data processing. At its core, LiveWell uses managed and flexible databases to easily pull the data it needs from the correct sources and then store it in the correct places. This helps reduce latency on data retrieval and ensuring that users can access their up-to-date activity data at a moment's notice.

With AWS tools and support, LiveWell has built an entirely serverless system that completely automates the process of profile creation and management. This streamlines development processes, reduces operational costs, and increases scalability.

Martin Jahn, LiveWell’s Chief Technology Officer has said:

“We built a serverless architecture from the start to minimize operation and maintenance needs so we could focus on our wellbeing proposition. AWS PaaS components are at the heart of key business services including Data Platform, Activity Platform, etc. AWS supported us in various workshops and training, from architecture design to implementation.”

The system allows LiveWell to handle unpredictable traffic spikes more effectively and scale on demand without provisioning extra servers. This means the app can better handle significant increases in traffic without crashing or slowing down. AWS has eliminated the need for idle servers, reducing costs and freeing up operational capacity.

LiveWell has designed a data management system that is fast and efficient, while reducing operating costs. This allows us to simultaneously provide business value and environmental responsibility, while building a product that works for customers.
